How to overcome disabilities? – It was a title of two-days-long workshops, organized in Skowronno Dolne near Pińczów, which took place on 20-21`th of June. This workshop show cased practical examples of good practice for including children with disabilities in education and was the great opportunity for their parents to find some institutional formality of aid.
The workshops were organized by “Świetlik” Association. It is  a non-government, nonprofit organization operating since 2001. In 2009 it was registered as a Public Benefit Organization.
The statutory activity of the Association includes actions for the benefit of handicapped children and their families. Basic directions in the Association's activity include:
development of the educational programme, creating conditions for optimal intellectual development and social functioning and counseling to the family members. A big challenge for “Świetlik” is opening a nursery school for handicapped children. Probably, it will be work in 2009/2010. Moreover, the Association organizes exhibitions of the handicapped children artistic works, events and integration meetings. The program of June`s workshops was seperated in two days. The first one was about institutional formality of aid such as: financial support and public aid. The second day was concentrated in children. It were a arts and theatre workshops, which engaged the handicapped children and their parents.
